Craspedocephalus brongersmai, also known as Brongersma's pit viper, is a type of venomous snake. It belongs to the pit viper group, which is part of the family called Viperidae. This snake lives on islands near the west coast of Sumatra, Indonesia.

The snake's specific name, brongersmai, was chosen to honor Leo Brongersma. He was a Dutch herpetologist, which is a scientist who studies reptiles and amphibians.
Where it Lives
Brongersma's pit viper is found in Indonesia. It lives on the Mentawai islands of Siberut and Simeulue. These islands are located off the west coast of Sumatra.
