The road leading southeast into Creal Springs today might be part of that old path. Another old road from Creal Springs went south towards Lake of Egypt. This road connected to Wagon Creek Road, which was part of the original survey.
There was a tricky way to cross the Shawnee Summit from Creal Springs. But there was also an easier, longer route. This route went east to New Burnside, then southwest along modern U.S. Highway 45, and finally east to Reynoldsburg. Creal Springs might have been a meeting point for these different routes long ago.
