He is known for playing the piano with great skill and a beautiful sound. He is considered a virtuoso, which means he is incredibly talented at his instrument.

About His Life
Cyprien Katsaris started playing the piano when he was just four years old. This was in Cameroon, a country in Africa, where he grew up. His first piano teacher was Marie-Gabrielle Louwerse.
Studying Music
Later, he moved to Paris, France, to study at the famous Paris Conservatoire. He learned piano from teachers like Aline van Barentzen and Monique de la Bruchollerie. Monique de la Bruchollerie had a teacher who was taught by Franz Liszt, a very famous composer and pianist. For a short time, Katsaris also studied with György Cziffra, another amazing pianist.
In 1969, Cyprien Katsaris won the top prize for piano at the Conservatoire. He also studied chamber music, which is music played by a small group of instruments. He won a top prize for chamber music in 1970.
First Concerts and Recordings
Cyprien Katsaris gave his first public concert in Paris on May 8, 1966. He played a piece called Hungarian Fantasy by Franz Liszt. He performed with an orchestra, which is a large group of musicians. Since then, he has played with many different orchestras and conductors around the world.
He was one of the first musicians to record all nine of Beethoven's symphonies, which were arranged for piano by Franz Liszt. He has also recorded music by other famous composers like Mozart, Chopin, and Grieg. He even recorded a rare piano version of Mahler's Das Lied von der Erde.
In 2001, Cyprien Katsaris started his own music recording company called Piano 21. He has released many albums through this company.
