Délifrance is a company that makes delicious French-style baked goods. They also create savory snacks. You can find their products in over 100 countries around the world! The company started way back in 1983.

Délifrance works closely with its sister company, Grands Moulins de Paris. This company is a big French flour mill. They provide all the flour Délifrance uses for its products. Délifrance has twelve smaller companies, called subsidiaries, in Europe and the Middle East. Their restaurants serve yummy baked items like croissants, gâteaux (cakes), fougasses (flat breads), pains au chocolat (chocolate bread), brioches, crisp praline, and baguettes. Many Délifrance restaurants also offer drinks and pasta dishes.

The Story of Délifrance

How It All Began

The story of Délifrance started with the Vilgrain family. In 1919, they created a company called Les Grands Moulins de Paris. This company focused on milling flour. Later, in 1983, Délifrance was born. It began making pastries, viennoiserie (like croissants and pain au chocolat), and savory products.

Délifrance Around Asia

Over the years, Délifrance expanded its reach. In 1997, a company called Sembawang Corporation Limited took a major interest in Délifrance Asia Ltd. A few years later, in 1999, another group, Prudential Asset Management Asia Limited (PAMA) Group Inc., bought Délifrance Asia Ltd completely.

In December 2007, a company from Singapore called Auric Pacific Group Limited bought Délifrance Asia Ltd from PAMA. Auric Pacific Group itself became a private company in 2017.

Délifrance in the Philippines and Malaysia

In the Philippines, a well-known company called Jollibee Foods Corporation operated Délifrance restaurants. This partnership lasted from 1995 until 2010. After that, the companies went their separate ways. The former Délifrance restaurants in the Philippines were then renamed CaféFrance. Jollibee later sold CaféFrance to another company.

Délifrance also had several franchise restaurants in Malaysia. These operated until 2015. By 2016, it seemed all these locations had closed without any official announcement. However, Délifrance made a comeback to the Malaysian market in 2020. They opened a new restaurant at the Publika Shopping Gallery in Kuala Lumpur.
