RaaShaun Casey (born September 3, 1977), known as DJ Envy, is a famous American disc jockey (DJ), music producer, and radio host. He is one of the three hosts of a popular radio show called The Breakfast Club. He hosts it with Charlamagne tha God on Power 105.1.

DJ Envy's Career

Starting Out as a DJ

DJ Envy grew up in Queens, New York City. In the mid-1990s, he was known as DJ Shrimp. A neighbor, DJ Clue, taught him a lot about being a DJ. DJ Clue helped him get started in the world of mixtapes. By the early 2000s, DJ Envy was making commercials and special music for big artists. These artists included Hahflamez, Jay-Z, 50 Cent, and The Lox. He then signed with DJ Clue's music label, Desert Storm. In 2003, he released his first album. It was called The Desert Storm Mixtape: Blok Party, Vol. 1.

On the Radio

DJ Envy started mixing music for the Hot 97 show, "Takin' it to the Streets." He later helped host the morning show on Hot 97 with Miss Jones. This job ended in 2008. DJ Envy then had his own mix shows on Hot 97. These included "The People's Mix" and "The People's Choice Hit List." He also had a segment called "New at 2."

He later joined Charlamagne tha God and Angela Yee. Together, they became the hosts of The Breakfast Club. This popular morning show started on Power 105 on December 6, 2010. DJ Envy also hosts a weekly show on Sirius XM Radio's Hip-Hop Nation.

TV and Other Projects

DJ Envy has appeared in music videos. He was in "Beamer Benz or Bentley" by Juelz Santana and Lloyd Banks. He has also been on TV shows like 106 & Park and Entourage. He hosts a show called Tha Corner on the Music Choice channel. In 2010, he became a VJ for MTV2's Sucker Free Countdown.

In 2015, DJ Envy released a song called "Still A Fan." It featured the artist Rico Love. In 2017, DJ Envy and his wife, Gia Casey, started a podcast. It is called The Casey Crew. The podcast talks about relationships and family life. They also wrote a book together. It is called Real Life, Real Love, and it came out in 2022.

Drive Your Dreams Car Show

DJ Envy loves cars. He started his own car show called Drive your Dreams Car Show. The first show was in 2018 in Secaucus, New Jersey. The second show was in 2019 at the same place. After a break in 2020, the show returned in 2021. It traveled to Atlantic City, Atlanta, and Detroit. Thousands of people came to see amazing cars. These included luxury cars and cars owned by celebrities.

Before its current name, DJ Envy called his car show "Carchella." However, the organizers of the Coachella music festival asked him to stop using that name. So, DJ Envy changed the name to Drive your Dreams Car Show. He tries to bring the car show to cities where he is already well-known. Cars from other celebrities are also shown. These include cars from 50 Cent, Fabolous, and Royce da 5'9".

Awards and Recognition

On January 24, 2020, the mayor of Atlantic City, New Jersey, declared January 23 as "Breakfast Club Day." DJ Envy also received a special Key to the City. This was for his great work in promoting Atlantic City.

In August 2020, DJ Envy and his Breakfast Club co-hosts, Angela Yee and Charlamagne tha God, were honored. They were inducted into the Radio Hall of Fame.

Personal Life

DJ Envy is married to Gia Casey. She has Chinese-Jamaican heritage. He lives in Kinnelon, New Jersey.
