Angela Yee (born January 3, 1976) is a famous American radio host. She is known for her engaging interviews and fun personality. Currently, she hosts her own radio show called Way Up. Before this, she was a popular co-host of The Breakfast Club from 2010 to 2022.

Angela Yee also helps out with important causes. She is part of the We Are Family Foundation. She also serves as an ambassador for the New York Public Library. In 2019, she became an ambassador for BSE Global. This role focuses on making sure everyone feels welcome and included.

Early Life and Education

Angela Yee grew up in Flatbush, Brooklyn, New York City. Her father is Chinese and her mother is from Montserrat. She went to Poly Prep in New York. Later, her family moved to South Orange, New Jersey. She then attended Columbia High School.

For college, Angela Yee studied English at Wesleyan University. She graduated in 1997. After college, she started working in marketing and the music business.

Her Career Journey

Starting in Music

Angela Yee began her career with an internship. She worked for Wu-Tang Management, helping the CEO. She even appeared in a music video for the Wu-Tang Clan. She also helped write skits for GZA's album, Beneath the Surface.

Later, she worked for Paul Rosenberg and Eminem's clothing company, Shady Limited. She then found an opportunity in the marketing department at Sirius Satellite Radio. Paul Rosenberg helped her get an interview. He suggested she try out for a morning radio show.

Becoming a Radio Star

Angela Yee started her radio journey in 2005. She co-hosted The Cipha Sounds Effect on Shade 45. This was Eminem's radio station on Sirius. When the main host left, Angela Yee took over. Her show was first called The Shade 45 Morning Show Starring Angela Yee. Later, it became The Morning After with Angela Yee. She also hosted a show called Lip Service.

In December 2010, Angela Yee joined Power 105.1. She became a co-host of The Breakfast Club. She worked alongside DJ Envy and Charlamagne tha God. The show became very popular. It was known for asking tough questions to music artists.

In 2013, Weekends with The Breakfast Club started. This show was broadcast across the country. It reached over 50 different radio markets.

Angela Yee received a special award in 2019. It was the Gracie Award for her work on The Breakfast Club. This award honors women in media. In August 2020, she and her co-hosts were honored again. They were inducted into the Radio Hall of Fame.

On December 1, 2022, Angela Yee left The Breakfast Club. She started her own nationally broadcast radio show. This new show, Way Up With Angela Yee, began on February 6, 2023.

Angela Yee has also managed music artists. She helped Jay Electronica get a deal with Jay Z's Roc Nation. In 2016, she opened a juice bar called Juices for Life. It is in Bedford-Stuyvesant, Brooklyn. Her business partners include DJ Envy and Styles P.
