The Story of Dadeville
Dadeville has an interesting past. There were actually two towns named Dadeville in Dade County! The first Dadeville was started in the 1840s. But it disappeared after the main county town, Greenfield, was built.
The Dadeville we know today was first called Melville. A post office opened in Melville in 1853. The name was later changed to Dadeville in 1858. The village is named after Dade County itself.
