What Was Dance Factory About?
Finding New Dance Stars
The show's main goal was to find new dance talent. It paired six kids who weren't dancers. They teamed up with young dance experts their own age. These experts specialized in different dance styles.
Diverse Dance Styles
The show featured many cool dance types. These included Bhangra, Irish dancing, pop, tap dancing, hip hop, and musical theatre. Contestants came from all over the UK. Auditions were held in big cities. These cities included London, Manchester, Birmingham, Cardiff, Glasgow, and Belfast.
Training and Tips
After the pairs were formed, the training began. The young experts taught their partners how to dance. They worked hard to learn new moves.
Meeting Showbiz Stars
The dancers also got to meet famous people. These stars gave them valuable tips. Some of the stars included Michael Flatley from Riverdance. Football star Rio Ferdinand also shared advice. Olympic gold medalist Denise Lewis helped them too. The cast of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang in London's West End also met the dancers.
The Competition Begins
After six weeks of intense practice, the competition started. The pairs performed in live semi-finals.
Semi-Final Eliminations
In each semi-final, one pair was voted off. CBBC viewers decided who stayed. The musical theatre pair, Stacey and Josh, were eliminated first. The Bhangra pair, Teejay and Tom, left the competition the next week.
The Grand Final
The final episode was extra long and exciting. The Irish dancing pair, Claire and Gavin, won the title. They became the first Dance Factory Champions. Their amazing prize was a dream trip to New York City. Naoimh and her tap dancing partner were the runners-up.
