What is Danggali?

Danggali became an official "locality" on April 26, 2013. This name was chosen because people had used it for a long time.

A Place for Nature

The main purpose of Danggali is to protect its natural environment. The entire area is covered by two important protected zones:

  • The Danggali Conservation Park
  • The Danggali Wilderness Protection Area

These areas help keep the land and its wildlife safe.

No People Live Here

Because Danggali is a protected area, no one lives there. The 2016 Australian census, which counts how many people live in different places, reported that Danggali had a population of zero. This means it is a place just for nature.

Where is Danggali Located?

Danggali is part of a larger area called the Pastoral Unincorporated Area of South Australia. This means it is not part of a local council like a town or city.

Government Areas

Even though no one lives in Danggali, it is still part of different government areas. These areas help manage the land and its resources.

  • For national elections, Danggali is in the Barker and Grey areas.
  • For state elections, it is in the Chaffey and Stuart areas.

Danggali is also part of South Australia's Murray and Mallee region. This region is known for its unique landscapes and rivers.
