Daniela Dimitrovska (Macedonian: Даниела Димитровска), born on June 4, 1979, in Skopje, is a famous singer from North Macedonia. Many people know her simply as Dani. She has released three studio albums in Macedonian: Ti Da Me Imaš (2006), Vo Megjuvreme (2010), and Grad Za Ljubov (2017).

Dani Dimitrovska: Her Music Journey

Dani Dimitrovska began her singing career at a music competition called Makfest in Štip. Her song, "Samo Ti Mi Trebaš," was very popular with both the audience and music journalists. In 2000, she took part in the national selection for the Eurovision Song Contest with her song "A Nekogaš."

After a short break to focus on her young son, Lazar, Dani made a big comeback. Her song "Srca Dve" (which means "Two Hearts" in English) became a huge hit. It reached number one on all Macedonian music charts for a whole month! It also made it to number 4 on MTV Adria. Dani was the first singer from North Macedonia to get a spot on the MTV Adria Top 20 chart.

New Sounds and Collaborations

In 2021, Dani Dimitrovska started working on a new type of music. She teamed up with Micevski and other singers to create acoustic ethno-jazz versions of well-known Macedonian songs. These included "Karanfilo filfilo mome," "Belo Lice Ljubam Jas," and "Dejgidi, ludi mladi godini." Fans really loved these new versions, especially "Karanfilo filfilo mome," which has been viewed over 130,000 times online.

On May 31, 2022, Dani released a new song called "Begame." She worked with another Macedonian artist, Branislav Nikolov, also known as Pijan Slavej. The song was written by Vesna Malinova, and Jordan Manov helped with the music arrangement. A music video for "Begame" was also released, and Dani's son, Lazar, played one of the main characters.

Dani explained that "Begame" is about how people sometimes act in modern society. She said it talks about feeling distant from others and being afraid of responsibility.

Making a Difference: Dani's Activism

Besides her music, Dani Dimitrovska is also known for her activism. On March 30, 2010, she traveled to Dubai in the United Arab Emirates. She was an ambassador for a special campaign by UNFPA, which is a United Nations agency. This campaign focused on fighting against AIDS among young people. Dani served as a regional ambassador for this important cause for four years. She was even invited to be part of a documentary movie about the topic, filmed in Sudan.

On April 23, 2015, Dani worked on another important project. She helped create a peace-promoting song called "Let's Dream" for UNFPA Palestine. She collaborated with artists from Egypt and Palestine on this song, spreading a message of hope and peace.
