Danny Foster was born on May 3, 1979. He is an English pop and soul singer. Many people know him as a television personality. Danny became famous after appearing on the first series of the British TV talent show Popstars. He then became a founding member of the popular music group Hear'say.
Danny Foster's Early Life and Music Career
Danny Foster went to the Central Foundation Boys' School. Before he joined the Popstars TV show, he worked as a cleaner. He also trained to be a youth worker, helping young people.
Danny first became well-known in 2001. This was after he appeared on the first series of Popstars, a TV talent show that aired on ITV1. On the show, aspiring singers competed to become pop stars. Danny impressed the judges, including Nigel Lythgoe and Nicki Chapman. He was chosen to be one of the first members of the pop group Hear'say. The other members were Myleene Klass, Kym Marsh, Suzanne Shaw, and Noel Sullivan.
After the group was formed, Hear'say became very successful around the world. They sold almost three million records! Their first song, "Pure and Simple", became the fastest-selling number one song on the UK Singles Chart at that time. Hear'say also released another number one song and a number one album. They even performed a sold-out concert tour across the UK and Ireland. However, the group's second album was not as successful. Hear'say eventually split up about eighteen months after they first formed.
In 2005, Danny Foster took part in the third series of The Games. This was a sports-based reality show on Channel 4. Danny joined the show halfway through to replace an actor who was injured. He competed against other famous people like Craig Charles and Chesney Hawkes.
In 2006, Danny appeared as a celebrity contestant on Trust Me – I'm a Beauty Therapist. This show was on the Five TV channel. He appeared alongside other celebrities such as Suzi Quatro and Stan Boardman.
Danny Foster's Recent Activities
Danny Foster has been performing as part of his own group, "Danny Foster & The Big Soul Corporation." This group performs live concerts, mostly singing soul and Motown songs. Danny is the lead singer of the group.
In 2013, he auditioned for The Voice UK. This is another popular singing competition show. He sang his own soul version of the Spice Girls' hit song "Wannabe". However, none of the judges chose him to be on their team.
