Myleene Angela Klass MBE (born 6 April 1978) is a talented English musician, singer, TV presenter, and model. She first became famous as a member of the pop group Hear'Say. Later, she released two solo albums that mixed classical music with pop.
Myleene has also become a well-known face on TV and radio. She has hosted shows like Popstar to Operastar and BBQ Champ on ITV, and The One Show on BBC One. In 2006, she was the runner-up on I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here!. She returned for an "all-stars" series in 2023, I'm a Celebrity... South Africa, which she won!

Early Life and Music Training
Myleene Klass was born in Great Yarmouth, England. Her father is from Austria and her mother is from the Philippines. From a young age, Myleene loved music. She learned to play the violin and piano.
When she was 15, she studied voice and harp at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. She also went on to study at the Royal Academy of Music in London. Before becoming a pop star, Myleene sang backing vocals for Cliff Richard. She even performed in the famous West End musical Miss Saigon.
Music Career
Myleene's music journey started early. In 1998, she sang soprano for the film Alice through the Looking Glass.
Joining Hear'Say
In 2001, Myleene tried out for a TV show called Popstars. This show aimed to create a new pop band. Myleene was chosen as one of the five members of Hear'Say. The band quickly became very popular.
Hear'Say had their own TV show, Hear'Say It's Saturday. They performed with famous artists like Lionel Richie and Celine Dion. They also went on a huge tour that sold out all 37 shows. The band had four songs in the Top 10, including two that reached number one in the UK!
After some changes in the band, Hear'Say split up in 2002.
Solo Music
After Hear'Say, Myleene signed a deal to release her own music. Her first solo album, Moving On, came out in 2003. It featured new versions of famous classical pieces. These included Pavane by Gabriel Fauré and Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata. The album also had music from movies like Gladiator. Moving On became a gold-certified album.
In 2007, Myleene signed another record deal with EMI Classics. She released her second album, Myleene's Music for Mothers, in 2008. This album included popular songs like "America" from West Side Story.
Television Career
Myleene has had a busy career as a TV presenter.
Hosting Shows
In 2005, Myleene started presenting the ITV music show CD:UK. She also appeared as a guest on other shows like The Wright Stuff.
In 2007, she co-presented the BBC One show The One Show. She also hosted New Year Live for the countdown to 2008. Myleene became the new presenter for the Channel 4 series 10 Years Younger in 2009. She even co-hosted the American version of I'm a Celebrity... Get Me out of Here! in 2009.
In 2015, Myleene presented the ITV series BBQ Champ.
Reality TV Appearances
Myleene took part in the sixth series of I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here! in 2006. She finished in second place. Her time on the show made her one of the most searched-for celebrities online.
In 2020, Myleene was a contestant on Dancing on Ice. She was the first celebrity to leave that series.
In 2023, she returned to the jungle for I'm a Celebrity... South Africa. Myleene won the show and was crowned the first "I'm a Celebrity Legend"!
She has also been a regular guest and panellist on the ITV talk show Loose Women.
Political Discussions
In 2014, Myleene had a lively discussion with Ed Miliband, who was then the leader of the Labour Party. They talked about his idea for a "mansion tax" on larger homes. Myleene felt this tax might unfairly affect some people. This discussion was even mentioned by the Prime Minister at the time, David Cameron.
Radio Work
Since 2006, Myleene has presented the Sunday Breakfast programme on Classic FM. She also hosts the Smooth Classics programme on Saturday and Sunday evenings.
In 2014, Myleene started presenting a Saturday drive-time show on Smooth Radio. She also covered the weekday morning show for a period.
Other Work
Myleene has also worked as a model. She has been the face of Ortak Jewellery and modeled for Marks & Spencer and Littlewoods.
She also designs a range of baby clothes called Baby K for Mothercare. Myleene is the official godmother of the cruise ship Carnival Splendor. She is also an ambassador for EDF Energy's Team Green Britain.
Personal Life
Myleene has been interested in astronomy for most of her life. Her father taught her about the stars. She even attended the control centre for the UK Mars probe Beagle 2 in 2003. She has also spoken out about the importance of places like the London Planetarium.
Myleene has three children. Her first daughter, Ava, was born in 2007. Her second daughter, Hero, was born in 2011. In 2019, she welcomed her son, Apollo, with her partner Simon Motson. Myleene and Simon got engaged in 2020.
Charity Work
Myleene is involved in a lot of charity work. She visited Sierra Leone for World Vision's famine appeal to see how they help villagers. She has also supported campaigns against text bullying and for ChildLine. She helped with the Niger famine appeal by answering phone calls.
She has performed concerts to raise money for charity, including for the Cathedral Church of St John the Baptist in Norwich. In 2006, she appeared on Sport Relief to play TV sports theme tunes on a piano. She also guest-presented BBC Children in Need in 2007. Myleene works with Norwood, a Jewish charity that helps children.
In 2022, she received an honorary degree from the University of East Anglia. In 2023, she supported changes to the Women's Health Strategy to help women who have experienced miscarriage.
Myleene is an ambassador for the National Foundation for Youth Music, a charity that supports music for children. She was also appointed a Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) in 2025 for her work on women's health, especially raising awareness about miscarriage.
