Music Career
Starting with Hear'Say
Before joining a band, Kym Marsh sang for other artists. In late 2000, she tried out for the ITV talent show Popstars. She was one of five singers chosen to form the new group Hear'Say. The other members were Danny Foster, Myleene Klass, Suzanne Shaw, and Noel Sullivan.
In March 2001, Hear'Say released their first song, "Pure and Simple". It quickly went to number one on the UK Singles Chart. The group then released their second song, "The Way to Your Love," in June 2001, which also became a number one hit. Hear'Say then went on a tour across the UK. In January 2002, Kym announced she was leaving the band. The group later broke up in October 2002.

In July 2003, Kym released her first solo album, Standing Tall. It reached number nine in the UK charts. However, her third song, "Sentimental", only reached number 35. After this, her record label decided not to continue working with her. In 2006, Kym took part in Making Your Mind Up, a show to choose the UK's entry for the Eurovision Song Contest.
