Danville is a small town located in the state of Georgia, in the United States. It is split between two counties: Twiggs County and Wilkinson County. In 2020, about 165 people lived there. The part of Danville in Twiggs County is also considered part of the larger Macon area.

History of Danville
Danville was first known as "Hughes." It started around 1891 when a railroad line was built through the area. In 1905, the Georgia General Assembly officially made it a town and named it "Danville." The town was named after Daniel G. Hughes. He was the father of Dudley Mays Hughes, who was a U.S. Representative.

Danville is located at coordinates 32°36′20″N 83°14′41″W. It is a small town with a total area of about 0.79 square miles (2.04 square kilometers), and all of this area is land.
You can find Interstate 16 just south of Danville. This highway goes southeast for about 137 miles (220 km) to Savannah. It also goes northwest for about 31 miles (50 km) to Macon. Other roads that go through Danville include U.S. Route 80 and Georgia State Route 358.
