The Danville River (in French: rivière Danville) is a cool river in Quebec, Canada. It's like a smaller stream that flows into a bigger river. The Danville River joins the Landry River. From there, its water travels through the Nicolet Southwest River, then the Nicolet River, and finally reaches Lake Saint-Pierre. After that, it flows into the mighty St. Lawrence River.
This river passes through a few towns. These include Saint-Georges-de-Windsor, Saint-Claude, and Danville. These towns are all located in the Estrie region of Quebec.

River's Beginning
The Danville River starts at a place called the Lévesque Dam. This dam is in the town of Saint-Georges-de-Windsor. The dam holds back water, creating a small lake about 1.4 kilometers long. This lake gets its water from a stream called the Jean stream.
The Lévesque Dam is located:
- About 5.3 kilometers north of Saint-Claude.
- About 5.4 kilometers west of Saint-Georges-de-Windsor.
River's Journey
From the Lévesque Dam, the Danville River flows for about 15.5 kilometers (which is about 9.6 miles).
Here's how its journey goes:
- For the first 4.5 kilometers, it flows towards the northwest. It even goes into the town of Saint-Claude for about 1.1 kilometers. Then it reaches the border of Danville.
- For the next 11.0 kilometers, it continues flowing northwest through Danville. It passes south of the town of Val-des-Sources and crosses Route 116.
Where the River Ends
The Danville River eventually empties into the east side of the Landry River.
Its meeting point with the Landry River is:
- About 2.3 kilometers south of where Route 116 and Route 255 meet in Danville.
- About 5.5 kilometers upstream from where the Landry River itself joins another river.
River's Name
The name rivière Danville (Danville River) became official on December 5, 1968. This was decided by the Commission de toponymie du Québec, which is like the official naming committee for places in Quebec.
