Darrell Henegan (born June 27, 1961) is a Canadian athlete. He was born in Queens, New York, in the United States. Darrell became famous as a top competitor in two exciting sports: taekwondo and kickboxing. He also competed in boxing.

Darrell Henegan's Taekwondo Career
Darrell Henegan started his taekwondo journey in 1979. He continued to compete until 2001. During these years, he earned many important awards. He won championships in Canada, across the Americas (Pan American), and in North America.
Winning the World Taekwondo Games
One of his biggest achievements was winning the 1981 World Taekwondo Games. This event took place in Santa Clara, California. At this competition, Darrell made history. He became the first person from North America to beat the Korean champions in a World Championship Gold Medal match. This was a huge moment in the sport.
Darrell Henegan's Kickboxing Career
Darrell Henegan also had a very successful career as a professional kickboxer. He competed from 1984 to 1996. He had an impressive record of 25 wins and only 2 losses. Out of his 25 wins, 20 were by knockout (KO), which means he won by knocking out his opponent.
Becoming a World Champion
Darrell held many titles during his kickboxing career. He even became a two-time world champion.
- In 1988, he won the FFKA Heavyweight Title. He earned this title by beating Jerry Rhome in a decision.
- In 1993, he won the ISKA Cruiserweight Championship. He achieved this by defeating Przemyslaw Saletta.
Notable Fights
One of Darrell's two losses was in a big fight in 1990. This was a "unification bout" against Dennis Alexio. Alexio held the KICK and ISKA Heavyweight titles.
Darrell Henegan's Boxing Match
Besides taekwondo and kickboxing, Darrell Henegan also had one professional boxing match. This took place in 1986. He won this four-round fight against Daniel DesRoches by a unanimous decision. This means all the judges agreed that Darrell was the winner.
