Darren Archibald was born on February 9, 1990. He is a Canadian professional ice hockey player. He currently plays for the Fehérvár AV19 team in the ICE Hockey League (ICEHL). Darren played junior hockey for teams like the Barrie Colts and Niagara IceDogs. Even though he wasn't chosen in the NHL draft, he signed with the Vancouver Canucks. He then played for different teams within their organization.

Darren Archibald's Hockey Journey
Starting in Junior Hockey
Darren Archibald began his junior hockey career in the Ontario Junior Hockey League (OJHL). He played for the Stouffville Spirit team. In one season, he scored 21 goals and earned 47 points.
The next year, he joined the Barrie Colts in the Ontario Hockey League (OHL). He scored 25 goals and had 49 points in 68 games. He also helped his team in the playoffs.
After not being drafted by an NHL team, Darren was invited to a training camp. He returned to the Barrie Colts and had another strong season. His team made it to the OHL championship, but they lost.
Moving to the Niagara IceDogs
Darren continued to play in the OHL. He scored 18 goals in 24 games for Barrie. Then, he was traded to the Niagara IceDogs. Soon after, he signed a contract with the Vancouver Canucks.
With the IceDogs, Darren scored 23 more goals. He had a great start to the playoffs, scoring four goals in one game. The IceDogs did well, but were eventually stopped in the conference finals. Darren finished the playoffs with 10 goals.
Beginning Professional Hockey

In 2011, Darren played for the Canucks in a special tournament. He then went to their main training camp. He didn't make the main team and was sent to the American Hockey League's (AHL) Chicago Wolves.
He scored a goal in his first game with the Wolves. Later, he was sent to the ECHL to play for the Kalamazoo Wings. In Kalamazoo, he scored 9 goals and had 30 points. This earned him a return to the Chicago Wolves. He finished that year leading all Kalamazoo rookies in points.
Playing for the Canucks and Comets
In his second professional season, more players were in the AHL due to a league lockout. Darren started again with the Kalamazoo Wings. He played well, scoring 6 goals and 14 points.
Because of injuries on the Chicago Wolves team, Darren was called back up. He played well and was even called to the Canucks' training camp. He finished the season with 12 goals for the Wolves.
Darren attended the Canucks' training camp for the 2013-14 season. He was sent to the Utica Comets, which was Vancouver's new AHL team. He played four games there.
When some Vancouver players got injured, Darren was called up to the NHL. He played his first NHL game on October 25, 2013. He later got his first NHL point, an assist. In March 2014, he scored his first NHL goal against the Calgary Flames.
Later Career and Europe
Darren continued to play in the Canucks' minor league system. In the 2016-17 season, he had a great year with the Utica Comets. He scored 47 points in 76 games and won the team's MVP award.
In February 2018, the Canucks signed Darren to an NHL contract. He returned to play in the NHL. In October 2018, he was sent back to the Utica Comets. He was later called up again to play for the Canucks.
In January 2019, Darren was traded to the Ottawa Senators. He was then sent to their AHL team, the Belleville Senators. After that season, he signed with the Toronto Marlies in the AHL. He later returned to the Belleville Senators.
After playing in North America, Darren moved to Europe. He played for the Vienna Capitals in Austria. Then, on June 2, 2021, he joined the Grizzlys Wolfsburg team in Germany. He is now playing for Fehérvár AV19.
