In 1994, while playing for the San Francisco Giants, he won a Gold Glove Award. This award is given to the best defensive players in baseball. He also played in the postseason with the Reds in 1995 and with the Red Sox in 1998 and 1999.
His Amazing Errorless Streak
Darren Lewis was famous for his excellent defense. On June 17, 1993, he set a new record while playing for the San Francisco Giants. He played his 243rd game in a row without making an error. This was the longest streak for an outfielder at the start of their career.
He continued to break records. On July 16, 1993, he played his 267th game without an error. This broke the all-time MLB record held by Don Demeter. His amazing streak continued until June 30, 1994.
