David Franck Charvet (born May 15, 1972) is a French singer, actor, model, and television personality. He is best known for his roles in popular TV shows like Baywatch and Melrose Place.

Early life and beginnings
David Charvet was born and grew up in Lyon, France. His mother is Christiane Charvet Haddad, and his father is Paul Guez, who started the Sasson jeans brand. David was raised in a Jewish family.
In the early 1990s, he won a special lottery that allowed him to get a green card. This card lets people live and work permanently in the United States. In 1999, he decided to stop acting for a while to focus on his music. For some time, Charvet lived in France and toured as a singer across Europe.
Acting career highlights
David Charvet got his first big acting role in 1992. He played Matt Brody in the American TV show Baywatch. He was on Baywatch for three full seasons, leaving in 1995.
After Baywatch, he joined the cast of Melrose Place. From 1996 to 1998, he played the character Craig Field. In 1999, he decided to take a break from acting to focus on his music.
Later acting roles
In 2006, Charvet returned to acting in a movie called Prisoners of the Sun. This film was directed by Roger Christian and was released in 2013. He also played an athlete named Cameron Day in the movie Green Flash (2008).
In 2009, he appeared on ABC's reality show The Superstars. He finished in third place with his partner, Lisa Leslie. In 2010, he was a contestant on the French reality TV show La Ferme Célébrités, which is like The Farm. He was the runner-up on that show.
Music career
After becoming famous on Baywatch and Melrose Place, David Charvet moved back to France. He signed a contract with Universal Music Group France to release five albums. Over seven years, he released three pop rock studio albums.
His first album, David Charvet, came out in 1997. He then released Leap of Faith in 2002 and Se laisser quelque chose in 2004. His songs were in both English and French to reach more listeners.
His first song, "Should I Leave", was a hit in both French and English. It reached number 3 in France and also charted in Belgium and Sweden. Another hit was "Jusqu'au bout"/"Leap of Faith", which reached number 6 in France. His song "Apprendre à aimer"/"Teach Me How to Love" made it into the French Top 20 and was popular in Belgium, Switzerland, and the Netherlands. David Charvet has sold over 2.5 million albums worldwide.
Interests and causes
In June 2010, David Charvet joined The Blue Seals. This is a non-profit group that helps respond quickly to environmental problems. They focus on protecting the ocean. David is also a member of their board of directors.
The group worked to raise awareness about the Deepwater Horizon oil spill. They helped French company Ecoceane's ships, which are designed to collect waste and oil from the water, take part in the cleanup efforts.
Personal life
David Charvet dated his Baywatch co-star Pamela Anderson from 1992 to 1994.
He married Brooke Burke on August 12, 2011. Brooke decided to use her husband's last name and became known as Brooke Burke-Charvet. They have two children together: a daughter named Heaven (born in 2007) and a son named Shaya (born in 2008). They are raising their children in the Jewish faith. Brooke also has two daughters from her first marriage. In April 2018, David and Brooke announced they were divorcing. Their divorce was finalized in March 2020.
