The SA Music Hall of Fame
David Day had a big dream to honor South Australian musicians. He wanted to create a special place for them. This dream became the South Australian Music Hall of Fame. It started at the Goodwood Institute in Unley.
Why It Started
David got the idea from his friend, John Vincent. Sadly, John passed away in 2009. David then worked hard to make their shared dream come true.
Who Gets Honored?
The SA Music Hall of Fame celebrates musicians from South Australia. It includes famous bands like Cold Chisel and Masters Apprentices. It also honors many local musicians who deserve recognition.
Working Together: AMC
Gary Burrows from APRA helped David Day meet Enrico Morena. Enrico started the Adelaide Music Collective (AMC). David and Enrico worked together on events called the AMC Sessions. The AMC is a group of music experts in Adelaide. They work together to make Adelaide a great place for music.
Where Is It Now?
In December 2015, the SA Music Hall of Fame moved. It moved from the Goodwood Institute to St Paul's Creative Centre. This center is on Pulteney Street in Adelaide city centre. Other music groups, like Music SA, are also there. In October 2019, the Hall of Fame expanded into a new area within the center.
The Adelaide Music Collective officially became a company in July 2016. Since July 2017, it has been known as the AMC SA Music Hall of Fame.
