David Herman (born February 20, 1967) is an American actor and comedian. He is well-known for his funny roles and for giving voices to many cartoon characters. He was one of the first cast members on the TV show MADtv from 1995 to 1997. You might also know him as Michael Bolton from the movie Office Space.
David Herman has lent his voice to hundreds of episodes of popular animated shows. These include Bob's Burgers, Futurama, King of the Hill, Disenchantment, and OK K.O.! Let's Be Heroes.

Early Life and Education
David Herman was born in New York City and grew up in Washington Heights, Manhattan. He came from a Jewish family. He went to a special school for music, art, and performing arts called Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School and graduated in 1987. After high school, he studied acting at SUNY Purchase.
His Acting Career
Starting on MADtv
In 1995, David Herman was part of a TV show called House of Buggin'. When that show ended, he joined a new sketch comedy show called MADtv. He was one of the first nine actors to be on the show when it started in 1995.
Before MADtv, David already had some acting experience. He had appeared in movies like Born on the Fourth of July. On MADtv, he played many funny characters. Some of his popular characters were Mike Lawson and Marsh, a news anchor.
He also did impressions of many famous people. These included Bill Clinton, Tom Hanks, Larry King, and Patrick Stewart. David Herman left MADtv during its third season. He wanted to work on other projects. He later said that he had to get himself fired to leave the show.
Movies and Other TV Shows
After MADtv, David Herman continued to act in both TV shows and movies. He guest-starred on shows like Angel and 24.
He also appeared in several films. A big role for him was in the 1999 comedy movie Office Space. In this film, he played a character also named Michael Bolton. This character often had to deal with questions about the famous singer Michael Bolton. He also appeared in another movie by the same director, Mike Judge, called Idiocracy in 2006.
Voice Acting Roles
David Herman is very well-known for his voice acting in cartoons and video games. He has voiced many characters in the popular show Futurama. Some of these characters include Scruffy, the janitor, and Roberto, a robot. He also voiced Buckley in King of the Hill.
His voice work also includes roles in Family Guy and American Dad!. He was the voice of Roy Horn in the animated show Father of the Pride. In video games, he voiced characters in the Jak and Daxter series.
More recently, he has voiced Mr. Frond in Bob's Burgers. He also voices Mr. Gar in OK K.O.! Let's Be Heroes. You can hear him as The Herald and other characters in Matt Groening's Netflix series Disenchantment. He also voices Steve Williams in Brickleberry and Kevin Crawford in Paradise PD.
