David James (born 1 August 1970) is a famous English footballer who played as a Goalkeeper. He is known for playing for many top clubs in England and for the England national team. He retired from playing professionally after a long and successful career.

Playing for Clubs
David James started his football journey at Watford in 1989. He quickly became their main goalkeeper. His great performances caught the eye of bigger clubs.
Liverpool F.C.
In 1992, David James moved to Liverpool, one of England's most famous clubs. He played for Liverpool for seven years, making many appearances in the Premier League. During his time there, he helped the team win the League Cup in 1995.
Aston Villa and West Ham United
After leaving Liverpool in 1999, David James joined Aston Villa. He continued to be a strong goalkeeper there. Later, in 2001, he moved to West Ham United. He played for West Ham for a few seasons, even when they were in the Championship.
Manchester City and Portsmouth
