David Odonkor (born 21 February 1984) is a German former professional footballer. He played as a right winger, known for his incredible speed and quickness on the field.
He began his professional career with Borussia Dortmund in Germany. Later, he played for Real Betis in Spain, Alemannia Aachen in Germany, and Hoverla Uzhhorod in Ukraine. David also proudly represented the German national team in major tournaments like the World Cup and the European Championship.

Club Career Highlights
Starting at Borussia Dortmund
David Odonkor was born in Bünde, Germany. He grew up playing football and joined the youth team of Borussia Dortmund. He made his first appearance for the main team on 3 March 2002, when he was just 18 years old.
He quickly became an important player for Borussia Dortmund. In the 2005–06 season, he played in almost every league game. His speed and ability to help score goals caught the eye of other clubs. He then moved to Real Betis in Spain.
Time with Real Betis
David joined Real Betis in Spain in 2006. His first season was tough because of a serious knee injury. He worked hard to recover and started the next season well.
However, more knee problems kept him off the field for long periods. Despite these challenges, he scored his first goal for Betis in May 2008. He continued to face injuries during his time in Spain.
Later Football Years
After his contract with Betis ended, David Odonkor tried out for Rangers in Scotland. He then returned to Germany and played for Alemannia Aachen in the second division.
In 2012, he moved to Ukraine to play for FC Hoverla Uzhhorod. After dealing with more injuries, David decided to retire from professional football in September 2013, at the age of 29.
International Career
David Odonkor also played for Germany's youth national teams. He was part of the German teams in the UEFA European Under-16 Championship.
In 2006, he received a surprise call-up to the senior national team for the 2006 FIFA World Cup. He made his debut in a friendly match against Japan. During the World Cup, he came on as a substitute in four games. He was especially remembered for his amazing performance against Poland, where he helped set up the winning goal in the final moments of the game.
Even with his injury problems, David was chosen for the UEFA Euro 2008 squad. He played in one match during that tournament. Overall, he played 16 times for the German national team.
