Senger David Peralta Guerreiro (born August 14, 1987) is a professional baseball player from Venezuela. He plays as an outfielder. He has played for several teams in Major League Baseball (MLB).
David Peralta started his career as a pitcher with the St. Louis Cardinals in 2004. After some time, he became an outfielder and played in independent baseball leagues. He made his MLB debut in 2014 with the Arizona Diamondbacks. He won the Silver Slugger Award in 2018 and the Gold Glove Award in 2019. Later, he played for the Tampa Bay Rays, Los Angeles Dodgers, and San Diego Padres.

David Peralta's Baseball Journey
Starting His Career
In 2004, David Peralta signed with the St. Louis Cardinals. He started as a pitcher in the Dominican Summer League. He played in the Appalachian League in 2006 and 2007. However, he needed two shoulder surgeries and spent 2008 recovering. The Cardinals released him in May 2009.
After that, Peralta played for three seasons as an outfielder. He played in independent baseball leagues for teams like the Rio Grande Valley WhiteWings.
Time with the Arizona Diamondbacks
On July 3, 2013, Peralta signed with the Arizona Diamondbacks. He played for their minor league teams, like the Visalia Rawhide. He started the 2014 season with the Mobile BayBears.
The Diamondbacks called Peralta up to the major leagues on June 1, 2014. He played his first MLB game that day. He had a great start, hitting well in his first 15 games. In 2015, Peralta batted .312 with 17 home runs. He also led the National League with 10 triples.
In 2016, Peralta played in 48 games for the Diamondbacks. He hit .251 with 4 home runs. In 2017, he played in 140 games, batting .293 with 14 home runs. The 2018 season was a career high for Peralta. He hit 30 home runs and had 164 hits. He won the Silver Slugger award that year.
In 2019, Peralta batted .275 with 12 home runs. He was awarded the Gold Glove award for his excellent fielding. He continued to play well in the 2020 season, hitting .300 with 5 home runs.
On May 14, 2021, Peralta even pitched in a game. He allowed 3 runs but also got his first major league strikeout. In 2021, he batted .259 with 8 home runs. He also tied for the major league lead with eight triples.
Playing for the Tampa Bay Rays
On July 30, 2022, Peralta was traded to the Tampa Bay Rays. He got his 1,000th career hit on October 1, 2022. With the Rays in 2022, he batted .255.
Time with the Los Angeles Dodgers
On February 16, 2023, Peralta signed a one-year contract with the Los Angeles Dodgers. He played in 133 games for them. He hit .259 with seven home runs and 55 runs batted in. After the season, Peralta had surgery on his left arm to fix an injury. He became a free agent after that.
Playing for the Chicago Cubs
On February 19, 2024, Peralta signed a minor league contract with the Chicago Cubs. He played in 20 games for the Triple–A Iowa Cubs. He hit two home runs and had eight runs batted in. On May 10, Peralta chose to leave his contract and became a free agent again.
Joining the San Diego Padres
On May 18, 2024, Peralta signed a minor league contract with the San Diego Padres. After playing three games for the Triple–A El Paso Chihuahuas, he joined the Padres' main team on May 22. He mostly played right field. He had a batting average of .267, which was his highest since 2020.
