David Ronald Pipe (born November 5, 1983) is a Welsh former professional footballer. He played as a midfielder or full-back.

Club Career
Starting Out at Coventry City
David Pipe began his football journey in his hometown of Caerphilly, Wales. He joined the youth team at Coventry City. He made his first senior appearance for Coventry City on August 31, 2002. This was in a game against Nottingham Forest.
He scored his first goal for the team on October 5, 2002, in a match against Gillingham. During the 2003–04 season, he played only one game in the League Cup.
Playing for Notts County
In January 2004, David joined Notts County on a loan. He played his first game for them just three days later, helping them win against Wrexham. In April 2004, he signed a two-year contract to join Notts County permanently.
David was a key player for Notts County for three seasons.
Time at Bristol Rovers
In July 2007, Bristol Rovers paid £50,000 to sign David Pipe. He made his first appearance for Bristol Rovers in August 2007, in a game against Port Vale.
He later joined Cheltenham Town on loan in November 2009. His loan was extended until the end of January 2010. After his loan, he returned to Bristol Rovers.
Becoming a Leader at Newport County
In September 2011, David started training with Conference Premier team Newport County. He signed with them later that month. He played his first game for Newport County on September 17, 2011.
He helped Newport reach the final of the 2011–12 FA Trophy at Wembley Stadium in May 2012. However, his team lost to York City. David was chosen as Newport County's Player of the Year for the 2011–12 season.
In June 2012, David was made captain of Newport County. A year after losing at Wembley, he led Newport back to the Football League. As captain, he guided them to a 2–0 victory over Wrexham in the 2013 Conference Premier play-off final on May 5, 2013. In June 2013, he was also named in the 2012–13 Conference Premier team of the season.
David was a regular player for Newport County in their first year back in Football League Two. He played in 25 League Two games. In February 2014, it was announced that he would leave the club at the end of the season. He was officially released by Newport in April 2014.
Moving to Forest Green Rovers
On May 7, 2014, David joined Forest Green Rovers on a two-year contract. He was also named captain of the team. He played his first game for the club on August 9, 2014, helping them win against Southport.
He helped Forest Green reach the Conference National play-offs in the 2014–15 season. However, they were knocked out by his old club, Bristol Rovers.
On September 4, 2015, David was named the National League August Player of the Month. This was after he helped Forest Green win seven league games in a row. He scored his first goal for the club on September 22, 2015, in a draw against Cheltenham Town. He helped Forest Green reach the National League play-off final in May 2016. They lost to Grimsby Town at Wembley Stadium. He was released by the club the next day.
Short Spell at Eastleigh
On May 20, 2016, David Pipe joined Eastleigh on a one-year deal after leaving Forest Green Rovers.
Returning to Newport County
On January 5, 2017, David returned to Newport County on loan until the end of the 2016–17 season. He played his second debut for Newport on January 7, 2017, in a game against Stevenage.
David helped Newport stay in League Two on the final day of the 2016-17 season. He provided the cross for the winning goal in a 2–1 victory against Notts County. He was released by Eastleigh at the end of the season. On May 18, 2017, David rejoined Newport County permanently. His contract was extended until the end of the 2018–19 season.
He was part of the team that reached the League Two playoff final at Wembley Stadium on May 25, 2019. Newport lost the final to Tranmere Rovers. On April 23, 2019, David Pipe announced that he would retire from playing football at the end of the 2018-19 season.
International Career
David Pipe played for the Wales national team once in 2003. This was in a friendly game against the United States. Before that, he had played for Wales at youth level. He earned 12 caps for the under-21 team.
