History of Davis City
Davis City was first planned and settled in 1855. It got its name from William Davis. He was an important person in the early days of the city because he ran a sawmill.
In the past, Davis City was a busy spot for shipping goods. This was because it was located along the Chicago, Burlington and Quincy Railroad. Trains would stop here to pick up and drop off items.
Geography and Location
Davis City is situated right next to the Thompson River. There is a special station in the city that measures the river's water levels.
