Day'Ron Yusha Sharpe, born on November 6, 2001, is an American professional basketball player. He plays for the Brooklyn Nets in the National Basketball Association (NBA). Before joining the NBA, he played college basketball for the North Carolina Tar Heels.

Early Life and High School Basketball
Day'Ron Sharpe started his high school basketball journey at South Central High School in Winterville, North Carolina. In his second year, he averaged 14.3 points and 9.3 rebounds per game. As a junior, he improved to 16.5 points and 10.7 rebounds per game. He helped South Central achieve an amazing 30–1 record and win the NCHSAA Class 4A state championship.
For his senior year, Sharpe moved to Montverde Academy. There, he averaged 12.1 points and 7.3 rebounds per game. He helped Montverde finish with a perfect 25–0 record. They were ranked as the number one team in the country by MaxPreps. Day'Ron was also chosen as a McDonald's All-American. This is a special honor for top high school players. He also played for the Garner Road team in AAU games.
Sharpe was a highly sought-after player by colleges. He was considered a five-star recruit. This means he was one of the best players in his age group. He decided to play for North Carolina on June 17, 2018. He was the first player from his class to commit to the Tar Heels.
College Career at North Carolina
Day'Ron Sharpe began his college career on November 25, 2020. In his first game, he scored 13 points and grabbed 10 rebounds. This helped his team win 79–60 against the College of Charleston. Getting 10 points and 10 rebounds in a game is called a "double-double." He was only the fourth North Carolina player to achieve a double-double in their very first game.
As a freshman, Sharpe averaged 9.5 points and 7.6 rebounds per game. After his freshman year, on March 24, 2021, Sharpe decided to enter the 2021 NBA draft. This meant he would try to become a professional basketball player.
Professional Career with the Brooklyn Nets
Joining the NBA and the Nets
Day'Ron Sharpe was chosen by the Phoenix Suns as the 29th pick in the 2021 NBA draft. However, he was soon traded to the Brooklyn Nets. On August 6, 2021, the Nets received Sharpe and another player, Jevon Carter. In return, the Suns got Landry Shamet.
Key Moments and Achievements
On January 13, 2022, Sharpe had a great game against the Chicago Bulls. He played for 21 minutes and scored 20 points. He also had seven rebounds and one block. This was his highest score in a game at that time.
On January 10, 2024, Sharpe was diagnosed with a knee injury. He had hurt his left knee in a game against the Portland Trail Blazers. He took some time off to recover.
Sharpe returned to play and continued to improve. In a game on March 19, 2024, against the New Orleans Pelicans, he had a career-high 17 rebounds. He also scored 8 points, had 3 assists, and 2 blocks in that game.
During the 2024–25 NBA season, Day'Ron Sharpe played in 50 games for the Nets. He started in two of those games. He averaged 7.9 points, 6.6 rebounds, and 1.8 assists per game. On June 30, 2025, Sharpe signed a new two-year contract with the Nets.
