The Story of Daybrook Baptist Church
How the Church Began
The Baptist community in Arnold, Nottingham, started way back in 1844. This was a group of people who shared the Baptist faith. They needed a place to meet and worship.
Building the First Church
Their first church building was constructed in 1859. The very first stone for this building was laid on March 8, 1859. They even received some financial help from another church, Broad Street Baptist Church, to make it happen.
A New Beginning
However, by 1911, the first church building was no longer safe to use. Because of this, it had to be taken down. A brand new building was then designed by an architect named William Herbert Higginbottom. This new and current church building officially opened its doors in November 1912.
