The Deadlys Awards were a really special event in Australia. They happened every year to celebrate amazing achievements by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. These awards recognized talent in music, sport, entertainment, and important community work.

Music Stars

The Deadlys celebrated many talented musicians. Here are some of the winners from one year:

  • Most Promising New Talent in Music: Sharnee Fenwick was recognized as an exciting new artist.

  • Ella Award for Lifetime Achievement in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Sport: Lloyd McDermott received this award for his lasting impact on Indigenous sport.

The Deadlys also celebrated people who excelled in creative fields like dance, film, writing, and visual art.

  • Dancer of the Year: Patrick Thaiday was recognized as the best dancer.
