The Decker school continued to teach younger students, from kindergarten to fifth grade, until 1999. After that, those grades were also moved to other schools.
The school's mascot was the "Aces." This name originally referred to skilled airplane pilots during wartime. Later, it also referred to the ace cards in a deck of playing cards. Sadly, the old high school building was hit by lightning and destroyed by fire on July 9, 2024.
