Dorcas Wright "Dede" Gardner (born October 16, 1967) is a very successful American film producer. She helps create many popular movies and TV shows. Dede Gardner is the Co-President of Plan B Entertainment, a company that makes films. She has won two Academy Awards for Best Picture. These awards were for the films 12 Years a Slave (2013) and Moonlight (2016). This made her the first woman to win two Best Picture Academy Awards. She has also been nominated for many other films, making her one of the most recognized female producers in Academy Awards history.

Dede Gardner was born in Chicago, Illinois. Her parents are Dorothy and John Gardner. She attended Columbia University and graduated in 1990. Her father worked in finance, and her mother was involved with a health trust.
