Deep Creek starts in the northern part of Habersham County, Georgia. This is south of Lake Rabun. It begins less than 2 miles southeast of another stream called Shoal Creek.

The creek first flows southeast for about 1.7 miles. Then, it runs along the edge of The Orchard Golf and Country Club. Here, it helps fill two small lakes.

Deep Creek then turns south for about 2.3 miles. Along this path, it is joined by a smaller stream called Roberts Branch. After that, it makes a sharp turn to the west when Fry Branch flows into it.

The creek continues west for almost 1 mile. It then turns sharply towards the south-southwest. This happens where Liberty Creek joins it. Deep Creek flows west of Hollywood for 3.3 miles. It then meets Glade Creek, which comes from east of U.S. Route 23.

Finally, Deep Creek flows into the Soque River. This meeting point is just north of State Route 385. It is also where three different water areas, called sub-watersheds, meet.

Deep Creek's Water Area

The area of land that drains water into Deep Creek is called its watershed. The United States Geological Survey (USGS) has given this watershed a special code: HUC 031300010203. It is officially named the Deep Creek sub-watershed.

This watershed covers about 30 square miles. It is located northeast of Clarkesville. It is also east of the Soque River. All the rain and water that falls in this area eventually flows into Deep Creek.
