Delevan is a small village located in Cattaraugus County, New York. It is part of the larger town of Yorkshire. In 2020, about 1,064 people lived in Delevan.

Village History
The first settlers arrived in the area around 1821. At first, the place was known as Yorkshire Center. However, its name was officially changed to Delevan in 1892. The village became an official, self-governing community in 1915.
Geography of Delevan
Delevan is in the northeastern part of Cattaraugus County. It is located in the east-central section of the town of Yorkshire. The village's exact coordinates are 42.4896 degrees north and 78.4798 degrees west.
Land Area and Roads
The United States Census Bureau says the village covers about 2.57 square kilometers (or 0.99 square miles). All of this area is land.
A main road, New York State Route 16, goes through Delevan. Several county roads, including Routes 20, 21, and 73, also end near the village.
Nearby Communities and Waterways
Delevan is situated north of a community called Lime Lake. It is also south of the community of Yorkshire. West of the village, a stream called Elton Creek flows into the Lime Lake Outlet.
