History

Delray began as a small farming community. This was in the late 1700s. One of the first business owners was John McDonald. He owned a special mill called a stave mill. This mill made wooden staves. Staves are the curved pieces of wood used to build barrels. John McDonald also had a factory to make barrels near his home.
