Deschambault Lake (also known as Kimosom Pwatinahk 203) is a small community in the Canadian province of Saskatchewan. It is located right on the edge of Deschambault Lake. The closest city, Flin Flon, Manitoba, is about 145 kilometers (90 miles) east on Highway 106.

Deschambault Lake is at the end of Highway 911, which is about 31 kilometers (19 miles) long. The main way people earn money here is through commercial fishing. Other important jobs are at the Kistapiskaw School, which teaches students from kindergarten to grade 12, and the local health clinic. This community is part of the Peter Ballantyne Cree Nation (PBCN).

The community of Deschambault Lake is located 340 kilometers (211 miles) northeast of Prince Albert. You can reach it by driving about 30 kilometers (19 miles) on a gravel road off the paved Hanson Lake Road (Highway 106).

The nearest larger towns are Creighton and Flin Flon, which are about 140 kilometers (87 miles) to the east. Most people from Deschambault Lake often travel to these towns. They go there for shopping, doctor or dentist appointments, and fun activities.

Local Jobs and Activities

People in Deschambault Lake work in several different areas. Some make crafts, while others are involved in trapping animals or fishing. Harvesting wild rice and working at a sawmill are also important jobs.

In the 2021 Census, the community of Kimosom Pwatinahk 203 (Deschambault Lake) had a population of 840 people. These people lived in 159 of the 166 homes available. This number was a decrease from its 2016 population of 1,046 people. The community covers a land area of about 1.4 square kilometers (0.54 square miles). In 2021, this meant there were about 600 people living per square kilometer (1,554 people per square mile).
