Devon Michael Murray is an Irish actor. He is most famous for playing Seamus Finnigan in the popular Harry Potter movies. He was born on October 28, 1988.

Early Life and First Roles

Devon Murray was born in County Kildare, Ireland. His parents are Fidelma and Michael Murray. When he was seven years old, his parents enrolled him in the Billie Barry Stage School.

He quickly started his acting career. Within five weeks, he appeared in a television advertisement for Tesco. Just two months later, he acted in his first movie, This Is My Father (1998), alongside actor Aidan Quinn. He then joined the National Performing Arts School. His next big role was in the film Angela's Ashes (1999). He also acted with Jane Seymour in the TV film Yesterday's Children (2000).

Becoming Seamus Finnigan

Devon Murray tried out four times for a part in the Harry Potter movies. He finally got the role of Seamus Finnigan. Seamus is a student at Hogwarts who is known for his spells often going wrong!

Devon played Seamus in all eight Harry Potter films. These movies were made between 2000 and 2010. His character was a loyal friend to Harry Potter and his classmates.

In 2022, many of the Harry Potter cast members reunited for a special show called Harry Potter 20th Anniversary: Return to Hogwarts. However, Devon Murray was not able to attend this reunion.

Personal Life

Devon Murray has been in a relationship with Shannon McCaffrey Quinn since late 2020. They are engaged to be married. The couple welcomed their son in 2021.
