Early Life and High School Basketball
Dexter Boney grew up in Wilmington, Delaware. He showed great talent for basketball early on. He played for Brandywine High School. During his time there, he was named an all-state player three times. This means he was recognized as one of the best players in the entire state. Dexter also holds the boys' scoring record for Delaware. He scored over 2,000 points in his high school career!
College Basketball Journey
After high school, Dexter continued his basketball journey. He first played at Hagerstown Community College. This is a type of college called a junior college. While there, he was part of the NJCAA. In his second year, he was amazing, averaging 31.6 points per game.
Then, Dexter moved on to play for the UNLV Runnin' Rebels. This team is part of the NCAA Division I. This is the highest level of college basketball in the United States. He played for UNLV for two years.

Playing in the NBA
One of the biggest highlights of his career was playing in the NBA. He played eight games for the Phoenix Suns. This happened in February during the 1996–97 NBA season. The NBA is the top professional basketball league in the world.

Dexter also had a lot of success in the CBA. This was another professional basketball league. He played for the Florida Beach Dogs during the 1996–97 season. That year, he was one of the best players in the league.
