Dexter Boney was a very talented basketball player. He started playing at Brandywine High School in Wilmington, Delaware.
High School Star
While in high school, Dexter was named an "all-state" player three times. This means he was one of the best players in the entire state of Delaware. He even holds the boys' scoring record for Delaware. He scored more than 2,000 points during his high school career!
College Years
After high school, Dexter continued his basketball journey in college.
- He first played at Hagerstown Community College.
- As a second-year student, he scored an amazing 31.6 points per game.
- Then, he played for two years at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV). This team is known as the UNLV Runnin' Rebels.
Professional Career
Dexter Boney played for many different professional teams. He even got to play in the NBA.
Playing in the NBA
Dexter played eight games for the Phoenix Suns. This was during the 1996–97 NBA season. The NBA is the top professional basketball league in North America.
Success in the CBA
Dexter also played in the Continental Basketball Association (CBA). This was another professional basketball league.
