Dezső Lauber (born May 23, 1879 – died September 5, 1966) was a talented Hungarian athlete and an architect. He was born in Pécs, a city in Hungary, and passed away in Budapest, the capital. Lauber was known for being good at many different sports.

Olympic Tennis Player
In 1908, Dezső Lauber went to the 1908 Summer Olympics in London. He competed in tennis. Even though he was a great athlete, he lost his first match and was out of the competition.
An Architect and Olympic Artist
Besides being a sportsman, Dezső Lauber was also a professional architect. He worked closely with Alfréd Hajós, who was a famous swimmer and an Olympic champion from 1896.
Designing for the Olympics
In 1924, the Summer Olympics were held in Paris. These Games included special "art competitions." Artists and architects could submit their designs. Dezső Lauber and Alfréd Hajós teamed up for this.
Silver Medal for Stadium Design
They created a design for a stadium. The judges for the art competition decided not to give out a gold medal for this event. However, Lauber and Hajós were awarded a silver medal for their excellent stadium design. It was a big achievement to win an Olympic medal for their architectural work!
Working for Hungarian Sports
Dezső Lauber also played an important role behind the scenes in sports. He served as the secretary for the Hungarian Olympic Committee. This committee helps organize and support Hungarian athletes for the Olympic Games.
