Dhoby Ghaut MRT Station facts for kids

Dhoby Ghaut Station (NS24/NE6/CC1) is a very important MRT station in Singapore. It's special because it's an interchange station, meaning you can switch between three different train lines here! These lines are the North South MRT Line, the North East MRT Line, and the Circle Line.

This makes Dhoby Ghaut the first station in Singapore where you can connect to three different MRT lines. It's also one of the deepest MRT stations, going down 28 metres underground. That's like going down about nine floors!

When Dhoby Ghaut Station Opened

This station has grown over the years:

• 12 December 1987: The station first opened for the North South MRT Line.
• 20 June 2003: The North East MRT Line started operating here.
• 17 April 2010: The Circle Line was added, making it a three-line interchange.
