Diane Carol Richards (born 6 November 1969), known as Diane Parish, is an English actress. She is famous for playing Denise Fox in the BBC One TV show EastEnders since 2006.

Diane Parish studied acting at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art. She has been acting on British TV for more than 20 years. She appeared in many TV shows, including The Bill and M.I.T.: Murder Investigation Team. In these shows, she played a detective named Eva Sharpe. She was also in the BBC One comedy-drama Lovejoy from 1993 to 1994.

Diane Parish's Acting Journey

Diane Parish went to Kingsmead School in Enfield. There, she enjoyed writing and performing in school plays.

Early Theatre Work

After finishing her studies at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London, Diane mostly worked in theatre. One of her notable roles was playing Cordelia in a 1994 play called King Lear. This play was put on by the Talawa Theatre Company.

Television Roles and Awards

Diane Parish has had many different roles on television. In the show Lovejoy, she played Beth Taylor. She also appeared in EastEnders in 1998 as Lola Christie. Lola was the girlfriend of Mick McFarlane, who managed the night cafe in the show.

Diane also acted in TV dramas like The Bill and its spin-off, M.I.T.: Murder Investigation Team. In these shows, she played DC Eva Sharpe. Before The Bill, she starred in Babyfather. For her role in Babyfather, she won the Royal Television Society's best actress award in 2001. She was the first Black actor to win this important award.

In May 2006, Diane Parish returned to EastEnders. This time, she took on the regular role of Denise Fox. She took a short break from the show in January 2008 to have her daughter. She came back to EastEnders in June of that year. Diane also appeared in the 1996 film Indian Summer, where she played a character named Millie.

Diane Parish's Personal Life

Diane Parish's family comes from Dominica and Montserrat. She has two daughters with her former partner, Sebastian Hagemeister.
