Didier Guillaume (born 11 May 1959 – died 17 January 2025) was a French politician. He held important roles in both France and Monaco. From 2024 to 2025, he served as the Minister of State of Monaco. Before that, he was the Minister of Agriculture and Food in France from 2018 to 2020.
Didier Guillaume was a member of the Socialist Party until 2018. He was also a Senator for the Drôme region in France. He led the Socialist group in the French Senate. He also served as the President of the General Council of Drôme.

Didier Guillaume had a long career in politics, serving in many different roles. He started in local government and moved up to national and even international positions.
Starting as a Mayor
Didier Guillaume began his political career in his hometown. He became the Mayor of Bourg-de-Péage in 1995. He held this position for almost ten years. In 2004, he stepped down as mayor. This happened after he was chosen for a bigger role.
Leading the Drôme Region
In 2004, Didier Guillaume became the President of the General Council of Drôme. This meant he was in charge of the local government for the Drôme area. He worked to improve things for the people living there. He served in this role until 2015.
Becoming a Senator
In 2008, Didier Guillaume was elected to the Senate of France. The Senate is like one of the two main law-making bodies in the French government. He represented the Drôme region. From 2011 to 2014, he was the First Vice President of the Senate. This was a very important leadership role.
Later, in 2014, he became the leader of the Socialist group in the Senate. This made him a key figure in the French political scene. He continued to serve as a Senator until 2018.
Minister of Agriculture and Food
From 2018 to 2020, Didier Guillaume took on a major role in the French government. He became the Minister of Agriculture and Food. In this job, he was responsible for farming and food policies in France. He promised to make decisions that were fair for everyone.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, he asked people who were not working to help farmers. Many foreign workers could not come to France, so farmers needed help. About 50,000 people volunteered to assist. After his time as minister, he decided to retire from French politics.

In 2024, Didier Guillaume was chosen for a new and very important role. He became the Minister of State of Monaco. This is like being the Prime Minister of Monaco. He started this job on 2 September 2024. He was set to serve for four years.

Didier Guillaume was born on 11 May 1959. He passed away on 17 January 2025, at the age of 65. He had been in the hospital due to an illness. He was married to Béatrice Frecenon-Guillaume in December 2024.
