Diego Martín Rossi Marachlian (born 5 March 1998) is a professional footballer from Uruguay. He plays as a winger or forward. Currently, he plays for the Major League Soccer club Columbus Crew and the Uruguay national team.

Club Career Highlights
Starting Young: Youth Teams
Diego Rossi started playing football when he was just a kid. He joined the El Queso school in Solymar. At six years old, he moved to the Solymar Uruguay Sports Center. He was so good that Peñarol, a famous club, noticed him. He joined their youth academy when he was 12.
Rossi quickly became a top scorer. At 14, he scored 42 goals in 27 matches for Peñarol's under-14 team. The next year, he scored 25 goals in 17 games for the under-15 team. He helped them win important championships. In 2014, he was the best scorer in the Under-16 Tournament.
By April 2015, he was invited to train with Peñarol's main team. He kept playing for the youth teams while also training with the senior players. He finished 2015 as the top scorer for the U-17 team, scoring 22 goals.
Playing for Peñarol
In January 2016, Rossi officially joined Peñarol's first team. He made his debut on January 16, 2016, in a cup final. He was only 17 years old. A few months later, he played his first full match in the 2016 Copa Libertadores, a big South American tournament.
He scored his first professional goal five days later in a 3–1 win. At first, he played as a striker. But his coach, Leonardo Ramos, thought he would be even better as a winger. This change allowed him to use his skills in a wider position.
Moving to Los Angeles FC
On December 14, 2017, Diego Rossi joined Los Angeles FC (LAFC) in Major League Soccer (MLS). This was a new team starting in 2018. He was signed as a "Young Designated Player," which means he was a key player for the team.
Rossi made his MLS debut on March 4, 2018. He scored LAFC's first-ever goal in their history! It was also the fastest goal by a new team in MLS. In his next game, he scored two goals and had an assist. On August 8, 2018, he scored three goals in one game, which is called a hat-trick.
On July 18, 2020, Rossi had an amazing game. He scored four goals in a 6–2 win against their rivals, LA Galaxy. This happened during the special MLS is Back Tournament.
Time with Fenerbahçe

On September 1, 2021, Rossi moved to Süper Lig club Fenerbahçe in Turkey. He first joined on loan. He quickly made an impact, getting his first assist and scoring his first goal for the club in September 2021. Fans gave him a standing ovation after one great game.
In April 2022, Fenerbahçe bought Rossi permanently for about $6 million. He signed a three-year contract. He continued to play for them, scoring his first goal after the permanent transfer in September 2022.
Returning to MLS: Columbus Crew
On August 2, 2023, Rossi returned to MLS, joining Columbus Crew. He signed a three-year contract. In his first short season with Columbus, he played 16 games, scored five goals, and helped the team win the MLS Cup.
In 2024, Rossi started the season strong in the CONCACAF Champions Cup. He scored important goals against Tigres UANL and Monterrey, helping Columbus reach the final. He was even named in the Champions Cup Best XI. He also scored in three league games in a row. Later, he scored two goals in back-to-back games during the Leagues Cup, helping Columbus win the tournament. He ended his 2024 season with 21 goals in 48 games across all competitions.
International Career
Youth Teams for Uruguay
Diego Rossi has played for Uruguay's national teams at many different age levels. He played for the Under-15, Under-17, Under-18, and Under-20 teams. He also played for the Under-23 Olympic team. In total, he scored 28 goals in 82 matches for Uruguay's youth teams. He helped the Under-20 team win the 2017 South American Youth Football Championship.
Playing for the Senior National Team
In September 2020, Rossi was called up to the main Uruguay national team. He was part of the squad for World Cup qualifying matches. He made his debut and has continued to represent his country.
