Diego Martín Rossi Marachlián (born on March 5, 1998) is a professional football player from Uruguay. He plays as a winger or forward for the Major League Soccer team Columbus Crew and also for the Uruguay national team.

Club Career Highlights
Starting Young: Youth Teams
Diego Rossi started playing football as a child in Solymar. When he was six, he joined the Solymar Uruguay Sports Center. He was so good that he caught the eye of Peñarol, a big club in Uruguay.
At age 12, he joined Peñarol's youth academy. A scout named Néstor Gonçalves discovered him. Rossi was invited to play in a friendly tournament and was offered a contract.
When he was 14, Rossi was the top scorer for Peñarol's under-14 team. He scored 42 goals in 27 games in 2012. The next year, he scored 25 goals in 17 games for the under-16 team. He helped Peñarol's U-15 team win several championships.
In 2014, he was again the top scorer for the Under-16 team. He scored 17 goals in the first half of the year. Peñarol's U-16 team won the Clausura Tournament.
In 2015, he trained with Peñarol's main team for the first time. He continued to play for the U-17 team. He helped them win the Apertura U-17 Tournament. He was the top scorer for the fourth year in a row.
Playing for Peñarol
On January 5, 2016, Rossi began training with the Peñarol first team. He played his first game for the club on January 16, 2016. He was 17 years old.
Later, a new coach took over, and Rossi played more with the second team. But soon, he was called back to the first team. On April 20, 2016, he made his full debut in a big international game. Five days later, he scored his first professional goal. He came in as a substitute and scored against Rentistas.
His coach, Leonardo Ramos, saw that Rossi was great as a winger. This allowed him to use his skills without changing the team's other forwards.
Moving to Los Angeles FC
On December 14, 2017, Rossi moved to Los Angeles FC (LAFC). This was a new team in Major League Soccer (MLS) in the United States.
On March 4, 2018, Rossi played his first MLS game. He scored a goal in the 11th minute. This was the very first goal in LAFC's history! It was also the fastest goal by a new team in MLS history. In his next game, he scored two goals and helped with another.
On August 8, 2018, Rossi scored three goals in one game. This was his first "hat-trick" in MLS. It happened during a U.S. Open Cup game.
In 2019, he scored another hat-trick in a 4–0 win. He helped LAFC win their first ever Supporters' Shield. This award goes to the team with the best record in the regular season.
On July 18, 2020, Rossi scored four goals in one match. This was a huge win against their rivals, LA Galaxy. He finished the 2020 season with 14 goals. This won him the MLS Golden Boot award for being the top scorer.
Time with Fenerbahçe

On September 1, 2021, Rossi joined Süper Lig club Fenerbahçe in Turkey. He first joined on loan. He played his first game for Fenerbahçe in Week 4 of the league. His first assist came in Week 6, helping his team win 2–1. Rossi scored his first goal for the club in Week 7.
On April 15, 2022, Fenerbahçe bought Rossi permanently. He signed a three-year contract. He scored his first goal after being bought on September 18, 2022.
Return to MLS: Columbus Crew
On August 2, 2023, Rossi returned to MLS. He joined Columbus Crew on a three-year contract. He helped the Columbus Crew win the MLS Cup in 2023.
At the start of the 2024 season, Rossi scored important goals in the CONCACAF Champions Cup. He scored in both games against Tigres UANL. He also scored the winning goal in the semifinals against Monterrey. For his great play, Rossi was named to the Champions Cup Best XI team.
He continued his strong play in the league, scoring in three games in a row. He also scored two goals against Orlando City. He then had a streak of four games where he scored one goal in each. All these games were wins for Columbus.
On July 20, 2024, he scored his team's only goal in a game against Atlanta United. The league season paused for the Leagues Cup. Rossi scored two goals in back-to-back games against Sporting KC and Inter Miami. He scored two more goals in the semifinal win against Philadelphia Union. The Columbus Crew went on to win the Leagues Cup. After the league started again, Rossi scored three more goals. He finished his 2024 season with 21 goals in 48 games across all competitions.
In the 2025 season, as of July 28, 2025, Rossi has scored 12 goals in 24 league appearances. He has also scored 1 goal in 2 continental matches.
International Career
Playing for Uruguay's Youth Teams
Rossi started playing for Uruguay's national teams at a young age. He played for the under-15 team, then the under-17, under-18, and under-20 teams. He also played for the Uruguay U23 team.
He was part of the Uruguay squads for several big youth tournaments. These included the 2013 South American U-15 Championship and the 2017 South American U-20 Championship. In total, he scored 28 goals in 82 games for Uruguay's youth national teams.
Playing for the Senior Team
On September 18, 2020, Rossi was chosen for Uruguay's main national team. This was for World Cup qualifying games. On October 5, 2020, he was added to the final team. He made his debut for the senior team in 2022. As of July 2025, he has played 7 games and scored 1 goal for the Uruguay national team.

Diego Rossi is a very active player. He can attack from either side of the field or play as a central forward. He is known for his speed, hard work, and how he moves without the ball.
He often moves from wide positions into the middle of the field. He also drops back to get the ball. From there, he uses his speed and quickness to get past defenders. He also has good technical skills and can make accurate passes to his teammates.
Personal Life
Diego Rossi has family roots from both Italy (from his father's side) and Armenia (from his mother's side). He was invited to play for the Armenia national team, but he chose to play for Uruguay. His younger brother, Nicolás, is also a professional footballer and plays for the Armenia national team.
Rossi has said that his football idol is Luis Suárez.
