Dimsdale is a very small community, known as a hamlet, located in the northern part of Alberta, Canada. It's a quiet place that was officially recognized on March 30, 2001. Dimsdale is part of the County of Grande Prairie No. 1.

Dimsdale is easy to find on a map. It is about 2 kilometers (which is about 1.2 miles) south of Highway 43. This small community is also located approximately 13 kilometers (about 8 miles) west of a larger city called Grande Prairie.

How Dimsdale Got Its Name

He was a construction engineer who worked on building a railway line. This railway was an extension of the Edmonton, Dunvegan and British Columbia Railway.
