How Dinópolis Started
Dinópolis began in 1998. The government of Aragón wanted a special place. They needed somewhere to show off all the amazing fossils found in Teruel. This also helped bring more visitors to the area. The very first part of Dinópolis opened in June 2001. It quickly became a popular spot!
Explore the Halls
Dinópolis has several exciting areas to explore. Each hall focuses on a different part of Earth's ancient past:
- Aquatic Life Hall: Discover creatures that lived in ancient oceans.
- Dinosaur Hall: Meet giant dinosaurs that once roamed the land.
- Mammal Hall: Learn about ancient mammals that came after the dinosaurs.
- Hall of Meteorites: See rocks from space that crashed to Earth.

Science and Discoveries
Dinópolis isn't just for visitors. It also has a busy team of scientists! This team is called the Fundación Conjunto Paleontológico de Teruel-Dinópolis. They are always working to find and study new fossils.
One of their big achievements was finding and describing Turiasaurus riodevensis. This was a huge dinosaur! Scientists Royo-Torres, Cobos, and Alcala described it in 2006. Their work helps us learn more about life millions of years ago.
