Dini Petty (born January 15, 1945) is a well-known Canadian television and radio host. She has had a long and interesting career in media.
When she was 22, Dini Petty became the first female traffic reporter to fly her own helicopter. She wore a special pink jumpsuit while working for Toronto radio station CKEY. She spent 5,000 hours flying her Hughes 300 helicopter.

Early TV Career at Citytv

After her time as a helicopter pilot, Dini Petty joined Citytv Toronto. There, she worked as a writer and reporter. She also became a co-anchor for the evening newscast, CityPulse at 6, alongside Gord Martineau.
Hosting Popular Shows
Dini Petty also hosted an afternoon program called Sweet City Woman at Citytv. Later, she became famous for hosting CityLine, a daily talk show. On CityLine, she became one of Canada's top television talk show hosts. She even left her evening news anchor job to focus completely on CityLine. From May 1987 to 1989, Dini Petty also anchored CityWide, a news and current affairs program.
The Dini Petty Show
In 1989, Dini Petty moved to CFTO and the Baton Broadcasting System. She started her own popular hour-long talk show called The Dini Petty Show. This show covered many different topics and was very popular until it ended in 1999.
Later Career and Return to TV
In the 2000s, Dini Petty hosted Weekends with Dini Petty. This was a syndicated weekly radio program. It focused on health and wellness, especially for older adults, sometimes called "baby boomers." Later, Sheila Copps took over as the host of Weekends.
In August and September 2010, Dini Petty returned to Cityline as a guest host. She filled in for the regular host, Tracy Moore, who was on maternity leave.
In 2016, Dini Petty helped relaunch a product called Luuup Litter Box. She used a platform called Kickstarter to help fund this project.
Personal Life
Dini Petty's father, Gordon Petty, was a film producer. Her mother, Molly, was from Scotland and ran a talent and modeling agency in Toronto called Producers' Services.
In 1980, a documentary film followed Dini Petty's pregnancy and the birth of her son, Nicholas. She also has a daughter named Samantha.
