Domanick Williams (born October 1, 1980) was a professional football player. For most of his career, he was known as Domanick Davis. He played as a running back for the Houston Texans in the National Football League (NFL). Before joining the NFL, he played college football for the LSU Tigers.

Playing Career
College Football Years
Domanick played college football for the LSU Tigers for four years. During his time there, he ran for over 2,000 yards. He also scored 20 touchdowns. A big highlight was scoring four touchdowns in the 2002 Sugar Bowl.
Joining the NFL
The Houston Texans picked Domanick in the fourth round of the 2003 NFL draft. This was a big step for him. He quickly showed how talented he was.
NFL Success with the Texans
In 2003, Domanick was named the Pepsi NFL Rookie of the Year. This award is chosen by fans voting online. He was one of the first players to win this award.
He had an amazing start to his NFL career. In his first two seasons (2003 and 2004), he ran for over 1,000 yards each year. He also scored 22 touchdowns in those two seasons. Because of his great performance, the Texans gave him a new contract in 2005.
Injury and Retirement
In 2005, Domanick was playing well again, rushing for 976 yards in 11 games. However, he suffered a knee injury. This injury ended his season early. He was placed on injured reserve. He did not play at all during the 2006 season. The Texans released him from the team in March 2007.

Personal Life
In late 2006, Domanick changed his last name from Davis to Williams. He explained that Davis was not his real family name. He wanted to use his true family name, Williams, for his own children. He has a son and a daughter.
