Don Lisbon, born on January 15, 1941, is a former American football player. He was a talented running back who played in both the National Football League (NFL) and the Canadian Football League (CFL). He even became an all-star player in the CFL!
Don Lisbon's Football Journey
College and NFL Start
Don Lisbon played college football at Bowling Green State University. After college, he was chosen by the San Francisco 49ers in the NFL draft. He played two seasons with the 49ers. During his time there, he played in 20 games. He ran for 561 yards and caught 34 passes. Don also scored 3 touchdowns and even threw one pass for a touchdown!
CFL All-Star Years
After his time in the NFL, Don Lisbon played for three seasons in the Canadian Football League (CFL). His first CFL season was in 1966 with the Montreal Alouettes. This was a very successful year for him. He ran for an amazing 1007 yards and was named an all-star player.
In 1967, Don was traded to the Edmonton Eskimos. He finished his professional football career with the Eskimos in 1968.
