Don Lisbon, born on January 15, 1941, is a former American football player. He was a talented running back in both the National Football League (NFL) in the U.S. and the Canadian Football League (CFL) in Canada. He even became an all-star in the CFL!

Don Lisbon's Football Journey
Don Lisbon started his football career playing in college. He attended Bowling Green State University, where he played for their football team.
Joining the NFL
After his time in college, Don was chosen by the San Francisco 49ers in the 1963 NFL Draft. Being "drafted" means a professional team picks a player to join their team.
Don played for the 49ers for two seasons, in 1963 and 1964. During his time with them, he played in 20 games. He ran for a total of 561 yards. He also caught 34 passes from his teammates. Don scored 3 touchdowns himself and even threw a pass that led to another touchdown!
Playing in the CFL
After his NFL career, Don moved to Canada to play in the CFL. He played there for three seasons.
Success with the Montreal Alouettes
His first season in the CFL was in 1966 with the Montreal Alouettes. This was a very successful year for him! He ran for an impressive 1,007 yards. Because of his great performance, he was named an all-star in the CFL that year.
Finishing with the Edmonton Eskimos
In 1967, Don was traded to the Edmonton Eskimos. He continued to play for them and finished his professional football career with the Eskimos in 1968.
