Donald E. Williams Jr. (born February 24, 1973) is an American who used to play professional basketball. He was a talented player known for his skills as a point guard and shooting guard.

Early Life and High School Basketball
Donald Williams was born in Raleigh, North Carolina. He grew up there and started playing basketball at a young age. He attended Garner High School in Garner, North Carolina. His coach there was Eddie Gray, who helped him develop his basketball skills.
College Career at North Carolina
After high school, Donald Williams went on to play college basketball at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He played for the famous coach Dean Smith. Williams was a key player for the Tar Heels.
Winning the NCAA Championship
In 1993, Williams helped his team win the NCAA National Championship. This is one of the biggest achievements in college basketball. He was even named the Most Outstanding Player of the NCAA Final Four tournament that year. In the championship game against the University of Michigan, he scored 25 points. He was especially good at shooting three-pointers, making five out of seven attempts.
Playing Basketball Professionally
After college, Donald Williams played professional basketball for many years. He played for teams in different countries around the world.
Playing Around the World
Williams played in places like Cyprus, Germany, Austria, Poland, France, Sweden, Finland, and Greece. He also played in the Philippines and the Dominican Republic. In 1998, he won a championship in the Philippines while playing for a team called Formula Shell. Their coach was Perry Ronquillo.
Coaching Career and Achievements
After his playing career, Donald Williams became a basketball coach. He now coaches young athletes and helps them improve their game.
Coaching High School Basketball
Currently, Williams is the head coach for the girls' basketball team at Wakefield High School. He also started his own program called the Donald Williams Basketball Academy. He was recognized as the coach of the year for two seasons in a row, in 2017–2018 and 2018–2019. Under his coaching, the Wakefield girls' team did very well. They reached the final two in their conference during the 2017–2018 season. In the 2018–2019 season, they had an amazing year, winning the state championship without losing a single game!
