Dondre Gilliam grew up in Aberdeen, Maryland. He went to Aberdeen High School there. After high school, he started college at Cheyney University of Pennsylvania. Later, he moved to Millersville University of Pennsylvania to continue his studies and play football.
Playing Professional Football
Dondre Gilliam started his professional football journey in 2001. The San Diego Chargers, an NFL team, signed him on April 24, 2001. This happened even though he was not chosen in the main NFL draft that year.
Time with the Chargers and NFL Europe
In 2002, Dondre Gilliam was sent to play for the Scottish Claymores. This team was part of NFL Europe, a league that helped players develop their skills. He played for the Claymores in 2002.
