Dorgali (called Durgali in Sardinian) is a town in the Province of Nuoro. It is located on the island of Sardinia, which is part of Italy. Dorgali is about 230 kilometers (143 miles) northeast of Cagliari. It is also about 38 kilometers (24 miles) east of Nuoro. The town sits in the beautiful Seaside Supramonte mountain area.
The main ways people make a living here are by growing grapes and making wine. In the summer, many tourists visit Dorgali and its nearby beaches.
An amazing discovery was made in one of Dorgali's caves, called Ispinigoli. Scientists found the only known remains of a giant otter there. This otter, named Megalenhydris, is now extinct.
Dorgali is also the birthplace of Maria Gabriella Sagheddu. She was a nun who lived a very spiritual life. The Catholic Church later recognized her as "blessed."

- Prehistoric Sites: The area has many other ancient structures. These include nuraghes, which are stone towers. There are also dolmens, which are large stone tables. You can also find menhirs, which are tall standing stones. Finally, there are Domus de janas, which are ancient rock-cut tombs.
- Giants' grave of S'Ena'e Thomes: This is a special type of ancient tomb. It was built for many people and looks like a giant's grave.
- Motorra Dolmen: This is another example of a large stone table structure from ancient times.
Beautiful Beaches and Caves
- Cala Gonone Beach: Just a short distance from Dorgali is the lovely beach of Cala Gonone. It is a popular spot for swimming and relaxing.
- Grotta del Bue Marino: This is a famous sea cave. It used to be home to Mediterranean monk seals, which are called "sea oxen" in Italian.
- Ispinigoli Cave: This cave is known for its incredible stalactite and stalagmite formations. It is also where the giant otter fossil was found.
- Tiscali Cave: This cave is part of the ancient Tiscali village site. It offers a glimpse into how people lived long ago.
